This term both year 9 and 10 classes have been studying about War, its impact and the life of a soldier today and back in WWI in Gallopoli. Ten JCEA credits were tied into this unit and students have been busy writing newspaper articles, writing diary entries for soldiers and their families, writing poems and reading newspaper and journal stories. Huge thanks to Mrs Salale for sharing photos and her experience of being a mum to two NZ soldiers.
I read the Roald Dahl story 'The Twits' to both classes, we looked at character and plot development to help with our own writing.
We have been working hard especially this week to get everything finished before the holidays. Our call back day is next Thursday 18 July at 10am for students who need to finish these tasks to gain their 10 credits.
